On March 30th, the CREST.BD team led by Dr. Erin Michalak, Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and DMCBH member, hosted a record-breaking World Bipolar Day “Ask Me Anything” (AMA) featuring 83 experts from 20 countries, reaching hundreds of thousands globally. The initiative advanced bipolar disorder understanding, reduced stigma, and enabled open, accessible public dialogue.

In addition to a UBC DMCBH team hosting and organizing the event, the panelist team of experts consisted of a large team of DMCBH researchers including Dr. Chris Gorman, Dr. Erin Michalak, Dr. Ivan Torres, Dr. John Jose Nunez, Dr. Leena Chau and Dr. Paula Nunes.

The response was incredible: more than 650 questions, 2,000 comments, 2,500 shares, and over 825,000 views – making this the biggest bipolar disorder community event ever held.
