The Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) has announced the results of its Fall 2025 project grant competition. Congratulations to all the Djavad Mowafaghian Centre for Brain Health members who were awarded project grants, with three projects receiving more than $1.8 million in funding.
Overall, the CIHR Fall 2025 competition approved 421 research grants and 83 priority grants, for a total investment of approximately $413 million. A total of 47 projects led by UBC researchers were awarded $34.2 million in combined funding.

Project Grants:
- Paul Pavlidis: Large-scale multimodal genomics meta-analysis to gain insight into brain gene regulation
- Mypinder Sekhon and Mark Cembrowski: Multimodal Neuromonitoring during Normothermic Regional Perfusion in Organ Donors Determined Dead by Circulatory Criteria following withdrawal of life sustaining measures.
