Peptide Synthesis & Purification

The Peptide Synthesis & Purification Core Facility encourages innovative approaches to proteomic discovery by providing researchers at the Djavad Mowafagian Centre for Brain Health with the latest peptide therapeutic platforms.

The facility consists of a microwave aided peptide synthesizer which can produce small to medium scale peptides with difficult coupling sequence and a 6-channel peptide synthesizer capable of producing milligram to gram quantities of peptides for in vitro or in vivo applications, paired with a state-of-the-art HPLC/MS system able to perform either Analytical or Preparative analysis and purification.

In addition, the facility can also produce custom designed peptide arrays with an automated spot peptide synthesizer which can synthesize up to 960 peptide array on a membrane for the peptide binding screen.
