SUMMARY:Translating Plant Biodiversity Studies to Impact Health and Medicine
DESCRIPTION:A special lecture by Dr. Bin T. Teh\, Director of the Singhealth Duke-NUS Institute of Biodiversity Medicine (BD-MED)\, on ‘Translating Plant Biodiversity Studies to Impact Health and Medicine’ will take place on Wed\, Aug 19th at 3-4pm in DMCBH 3402 A/B\, with refreshments and a social hour after. \nDr. Teh will explore how biodiversity\, from iconic species like Singapore’s national flower (Papilionanthe Miss Joaquim)\, can be translated into new insights for human health and therapeutics. We will learn about BD-MED\, a joint initiative by Singapore Health Service and Duke-NUS Medical School\, which aims to drive and accelerate biodiversity research that can promote all aspects of human health and wellness\, and its three signature programmes: 1) Herbal Biodiversity and Medicine\, 2) Food Biodiversity and Nutrition and 3) Urban Biodiversity and Wellness. \n
