Alzheimer Disease and Related Disorders
The Djavad Mowafaghian Centre for Brain Health is home to the UBC Hospital Clinic for Alzheimer Disease and Related Disorders (UBCH CARD), a provincial resource dedicated to the assessment and care of individuals with or at risk for dementia.
The centre, a partnership between the University of British Columbia and Vancouver Coastal Health, is also home to dedicated research programs and clinics in Parkinson’s disease, Huntington’s disease, cerebrovascular health, depression, and multiple sclerosis. It is ideally positioned to foster integration and collaboration across brain health‐related disciplines, including neuroscience, rehabilitation, neurology, and psychiatry, with interdisciplinary and translational research.
The move of UBCH CARD to this state-of-the-art facility has launched a new era of patient care and scientific discovery that will further BC as a world leader in Alzheimer’s disease, inspiring new treatments today and hope for tomorrow.
